Set above the bay of Platis Gialos, this newly built luxury Mykonos vacation rental boasts resort-worthy outdoor living areas and a location just minutes from two beaches. Contemporary, open living spaces are rooted in traditional Greek island charm, and five suite-style bedrooms can accommodate the whole family or a group of friends.
Begin each day of your holiday at on the beach villa with a coffee at the outdoor sitting area, watching the yachts in the harbor below. As the sun climbs higher in the sky, follow the steps from the terrace down into the private pool to cool off. After a swim in the pool or the ocean, rinse off in the al-fresco shower and sip a drink from the outdoor bar while you wait for the barbecue to heat up. It doesn’t get any better than a meal of freshly grilled local seafood at the outdoor dining area while you watch the stars come out—and you can prove it by sharing photos of your stay via the home’s Wi-Fi.
Though the villa uses the traditional materials of stone and white stucco, its open layout creates a completely 21st-century concept of indoor-outdoor living. The sitting room opens to the terrace via sliding glass walls, allowing ocean breezes to flow over the clean-lined white sectional and subtly patterned armchairs. Blonde wood floors and a woven lampshade add natural, beach-inspired texture. The fully equipped kitchen has the same light, bright feel, thanks to butcherblock counters, stainless steel appliances and large windows in place of upper cabinets.
Each of the five bedrooms at on the beach villa has an en-suite bathroom and air conditioning. Four of the bedrooms have double beds, and the fifth—perfect for kids—has two twin beds. White walls and bedding are fresh yet serene, inviting you to rest after a long day at the beach or by the pool.
From the villa, it’s just a 1-minute walk down to the Platis Gialos beach, but if you’d like to see more of the island, it’s worth making the 5-mile drive to the Agios Stefanos beach or the 6-mile drive to Panormos Beach. Central Mykonos town, about 3 miles from the villa, has everything from romantic oceanfront tavernas where you can relive your honeymoon to lively bars where you can enjoy a memorable night on the town. It’s also about 3 miles to Mykonos Island National Airport, where you can make your connection homeward.
