The Space:
This historic house was built in 1820 and offers a unique Swiss "Biedermeier" experience in the Swiss Alps.

7 bedrooms and a large living room with antique furniture give plenty of space for up to three families.
As a matter of fact, this house was built for the local veterinary, who became wealthy because of the valley's business with the world famous Simmental cows that have been exported to all corners of the world.

There's a central heating system and antique wood ovens (with precious tiles) that keep you warm and cosy in winter time.

A 1000 sqm. backyard, with apple and pear trees and vineyards and the adjacent church give plenty of space to roam freely through the garden with a marvelous view on the surrounding Swiss Alps.

The world famous mountain "Jungfrau" in Interlaken, mundane Gstaad and plenty of ski resorts can all be reached within half an hour.

Small authentic shops with Swiss Cheese, bread and all you need to prepare a Swiss Fondue or Raclette are just across the street.

The Founder of the Amish People, Jakob Ammann (or AME, how he used to sign) grew up here and he's in the adjacent 11th century church's baptism list. He believed in Anabaptism, though:
Anabaptists are Christians who believe that baptism is valid only when the candidate confesses his or her faith in Christ and wants to be baptized. This believer's baptism is opposed to baptism of infants, who are not able to make a conscious decision to be baptized. Anabaptists are those who are in a traditional line with the early Anabaptists of the 16th century.

The oldest core of the house (a square cut) dates back to Jacob Ammann's time. Around this core, a second square house was built in 1820, which gives the house its current appearance.
You will note the two structures, once you will be inside this historic and magnificient house, wich is protected by the Canton of Berne's Cultural Heritage Management.
